Highlights From Riverwalk Anime 2025 in San Antonio, Texas

Moments from last weekend when we went to Riverwalk Anime for the first time!

The event’s highlights were meeting the legend, Jim Cummings (need to make another video about that interaction soon!), and seeing many other renowned talent at various panels while exploring the expo hall of artists, creators, and gamers.

Fun fact: the first official paid project we had at A-Game Creations was for voice acting back in 2017. Although I had no professional experience as a voice actor, I loved a creative challenge, so I recorded and edited a fun demo together using my wired Apple headphones/mic and GarageBand on my MacBook.

I never thought I’d actually be selected, but that one project turned into a few years of steady voice work, building our makeshift recording studio with better equipment and software in our apartment, and led to other creative opportunities we never even considered.

After a few recording sessions, I was asked if I knew anyone else interested in voice acting for the first time, and I immediately suggested Adam. Even though he was still working a corporate job, we recorded and edited his demo together. Soon after, we regularly recorded our voices individually and together for trailers, commercials, documentaries, and fun indie projects.

Adam‘s voice acting and range are 100% better than mine, having practiced his voice emulating the cartoons and anime he watched growing up. But more importantly, I have loved seeing how much passion and fun he has had with it over the years.

If you’re passionate about something, don’t let a lack of experience stop you from trying. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere.
