La Fogata Mexican Cuisine | San Antonio, Texas
When you work for yourself, you have to wear many hats. While being a creative entrepreneur can be exciting, never knowing what each day will bring can get stressful quickly.
Sometimes, when things get too hectic to cook at home, we like to hit up local eateries, especially those offering delicious Tex-Mex that still embody that old San Antonio soul. La Fogata on Vance Jackson is one such place and has been around since 1978. Tucked away behind walls of stone and greenery, it’s got an elusive but friendly vibe. The food is tasty and consistent, and we’ve enjoyed this spot for years.
Also, when one of our favorite Tex-Mex restaurants, Jacala, being one of the oldest family-owned restaurants in San Antonio (since 1949), burned down in 2022, La Fogata took it upon themselves to employ many of Jacala’s displaced staff, offering help and support during those hard times. It’s just another reason why we love coming here.
Remember, it’s always a good day to support a small business!
